Who we are
The Old America is a YouTube channel and this website. It's run by Asbaat Amar, a sole proprietor, who is responsible for your data on this website. You can reach us at hello@theoldamericatv.com.
The short version
- This website has no advertising pixels, no analytics and no tracking cookies.
- We only have your details if you ask for our free download or email us.
- We never sell or share your personal information.
- You can email us at any time to see or delete what we hold about you.
What we collect and why
When you ask for the free download, we keep your email address, your first name if you give it, the decade you were born in, the date you signed up, the country your connection came from, the page or video that sent you to us, and which wording of our sign-up line you agreed to. We use them to send you the download and, with your consent, occasional emails with new stories from The Old America. You can withdraw your consent with one click in any email we send. We don't keep your IP address with your sign-up.
When you email us, we keep your email address and your message so we can reply to you.
When you visit this website, our host, Cloudflare, handles your IP address and browser details to deliver the pages and to protect the site from attacks.
Who processes it
- Cloudflare, Inc. hosts this website, stores our list of sign-ups, sends the download email and forwards email sent to hello@theoldamericatv.com.
- Google LLC runs the Gmail inbox that receives our email.
These companies may process your data outside your country, including in the United States, under the safeguards their own terms provide. If we move our email list to an email service in the future, we'll name it on this page before we do. Links on this site to YouTube take you to YouTube, which has its own privacy policy. We don't embed YouTube videos on this site.
Cookies
We don't set any cookies. Our host, Cloudflare, may set a strictly necessary security cookie that helps it tell people from automated traffic. If we ever add advertising or analytics tools, we'll ask for your consent first where the law requires it, and we'll update this page before we do.
How long we keep it
- Your sign-up: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. After you unsubscribe, we keep only your email address on a "do not email" list, so you're never added again by mistake, unless you ask us to delete that too.
- Your emails to us: as long as we need them to deal with your message, and no more than two years after our last exchange.
Your rights
You can ask to see the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, take a copy of it, or object to how we use it. If you gave consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Email hello@theoldamericatv.com, and we'll reply within 30 days. Depending on where you live, you may also be able to complain to your data protection authority.
Children
This website and our emails are for adults. We don't knowingly collect data from children under 13.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
