Who we are

The Old America tells the stories of how ordinary Americans lived from the 1930s to the 1970s, and what it all cost, on YouTube and on this website. It's run by Asbaat Amar, a sole proprietor. You can reach us at hello@theoldamericatv.com.

The free price sheets

The price sheets are free for your own personal use. You're welcome to print them, keep them and share copies with your family and friends. Please don't sell them or publish them as your own.

The prices come from U.S. government records, such as the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the Census Bureau and the Postal Service. Most of them are national averages, so the price in a particular town or store could have been higher or lower. We check every figure against its source, but if you spot a mistake, please tell us and we'll correct it.

Information, not advice

Everything on this website and in our videos is history, told for interest. None of it is financial, legal or other professional advice.

Photographs

The historical photographs on this website come from public archives such as the Library of Congress, and each one carries its credit.

Other websites

Links to YouTube and other websites take you to services we don't control, which have their own terms.

Our responsibility

We provide this website and the price sheets as they are. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the law where you live.

Changes

If we change these terms, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
